Privacy Policy

How MTA collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information — and the rights you have over it.

Overview

MTA – Mineral Title Acquisition ("MTA", "we", "us") is a marketplace platform for British Columbia mining claims, properties, and equipment. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your data. This policy is written in plain language and applies to all users of the marketplace.

  • Inquiry routing — buyer inquiries are forwarded to the seller of the listed claim so they can respond.
  • Admin review — all submissions are reviewed by MTA admin for spam prevention, listing accuracy, and marketplace integrity.
  • Email marketing — if you sign up for the newsletter, we use your email address to send marketplace updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Service matching — service requests and claims-wanted submissions are reviewed to connect you with relevant sellers or providers.

Who we share your information with

Sellers

When you submit a buyer inquiry, your name, email, phone, and message are shared with the seller of the listed claim so they can respond to you.

MTA admin

MTA admin receives all submissions — listings, inquiries, service requests, sold reports, and promotion requests — for review, spam prevention, and marketplace operation.

No third-party sale

MTA does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers beyond the aggregated, pseudonymous analytics described in our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep your information

Listings

Stored indefinitely in the admin panel

Listings remain in the admin panel so historical records, sold reports, and marketplace statistics stay accurate. You can request removal of your personal contact details from a listing at any time.

Buyer inquiries

Stored for review

Inquiries are retained so admin can review for spam, follow up on disputes, and route future related correspondence. You can request deletion of your inquiry at any time.

Service requests & claims wanted

Stored until resolved

Retained until your request is resolved or you ask us to delete it.

Newsletter signups

Until you unsubscribe

Your email is kept until you unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email or until you ask us to remove you.

Your rights

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information MTA holds about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for optional processing (such as marketing emails) at any time.
  • Unsubscribe from emails — use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or email admin@mta.ca.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@mta.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

Security measures

Internet Identity authentication

Admin access is gated by Internet Identity, the Internet Computer's cryptographic identity provider. No passwords are stored on MTA servers.

Canister-based storage

Submissions are stored in backend canisters on the Internet Computer, which provides replicated, tamper-evident storage rather than a single vulnerable server.

Minimal data sharing

Personal information is shared only with the seller you contacted or with MTA admin — never sold to third parties.

Compliance

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act ("BC PIPA") and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA"). BC PIPA requires meaningful consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information; our cookie consent banner and Cookie Policy support that standard.
